The Apprentice - Corporate Team Building Activity in New York

Hi there, this is Jordan with another corporate event update from American Outback Adventures & Events.

Our latest event, The Apprentice, was planned for a group of sales managers from the entrance systems industry. What made this event extra special was the venue. We had the opportunity to host the event at the Ronald McDonald house at central New York, making for a huge impact with the participants, as well as the host. Teams needed to complete three tasks to be successful – assembling a functioning children’s bike, the unique and creative customization of the children’s bike, and finally, the creation and presentation of an advertising campaign to promote the bike. At the end of the activity, bikes were donated to deserving families in the community, through the Ronald McDonald house. Not only did the group will come together as a team and work in a new environment, they worked towards providing deserving children in the community a gift that will surely put a smile in their faces.

The Apprentice - Corporate Team Building Activity in Cincinnati

Hi there! This is Emma from American Outback Adventures & Events.

This event that I’m talking to you about today is our Apprentice Bike Build event. This one is one of our most popular and favorite events. Companies come back year after year to run this one. Not only because it's great for their employees or their new hires or their management team to work together in this type of creative atmosphere, but it ties the company to the community. These bikes go to a charity either that we can find or that the client chooses. So in this one, the charity was in Cincinnati and they work with foster kids and getting kids adopted. So these bikes were going to specific children, and at the end of the event, the representative was able to do a slide show, showing the photos of the kids that would be receiving the bikes that they had just finished building. The teams loved getting to meet the kids, really helped them customize the bikes and have the best experience possible. Of course, their advertising and commercials were just hilarious to the end, as you can see they had costumes and had tonnes of fun coming together to work with the community.

If you think that you and your company could benefit from a great community event like this one, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.

Team Pursuit - Corporate Team Building Activity in Kentucky

This is Jordan with another corporate event update from American Outback Adventures & Events.

Our latest event was a Team Pursuit Smartphone app based event. The event was planned for a group of associates from a law firm in the southern United States. It was as smoking hot day in Kentucky with all the participants relieved that they had an air-conditioned indoor event. Team pursuit gets group working together in teams to solve four different types of challenges: mental, physical, skill, and a little mystery. Answers are submitted in the form of fun videos, photos and text responses, earning each team points along the way. The challenges are quick and easy to complete, essentially sending teams on a person-to-person scavenger hunt, in order to get to know much about their fellow participants as possible. The event was a success as teams work together to get to know each other in a fresh dynamic environment.

Amazing Chase - Corporate Team Building Activity in Boston

Hi everyone, this is Emma from American Outback Adventures & Events.

And I wanted to let you all know about our new Boston Amazing Chase course. This is a newly created course that highlights some of the city’s great sites. They get to see the frog pond, the swan boats, and some other downtown attractions. Not only is this course new and exciting, it really challenges participants to get creative and think of how to do new things, think outside the box and get things done. They have to figure out logistics, their time management, their resource management and they really get to rely on their teammates in order to make it back to the finish, beat all the other teams and earn the most points in the shortest amount of time. Since this was the first time running this course with this client, there were no challenges, the teams made it through smoothly and felt challenged the entire time.

The Apprentice - Corporate Team Building Activity in Las Vegas

Hi everyone, this is James from American Outback Adventures with another corporate event update.

We just got done with a fantastic event here in Las Vegas, it was fun, we were laughing, we were dancing, we were just having a great time and in the end, through the efforts of a biotech company that we partnered with, eight very deserving boys and girls now have brand new bicycles. It’s amazing, I love this event. This group came out and they participated in what we call our Apprentice event, so the teams completed challenges to earn money. They completed challenges to earn other marketing materials so they could put together a marketing presentation. After they finish building their bike, they then had to market their bike as though they were marketing to people in their industry. We saw scientific machines, we saw bikes turned into amazing contraptions, there were singing, there was dancing, there were words that rhyme, it was a great time. In the end, everybody left with huge smiles on their faces, we even had a lip sync contest. It was insane!

Cake Creators - Corporate Team Building Activity in Omaha

Hi there, this is Emma from American Outback Adventures & Events.

And I am here to let you guys know about our Cake Creators event. This one is perfect if your team is into watching cooking shows, learning new skills, and putting them to the test. This one is different than any of our other events cause it has several components. One, most people don’t already know how to decorate cakes, so all these tools are unfamiliar to them, they got to learn new technique, pick up skills, work as a team under pressure and create an edible, delicious concoction. This team’s theme was Disney Pixar, so all the cakes had a really fun element to them. They turned out amazing, as you can see from the photos. We had “Cars”, “Up”, “Finding Nemo”, we even had a “Mr Potato Head” from “Toy Story”, so this one really allowed their creativity to come out. I heard a lot of people say they’re outside their comfort zone and that they were happy learning new skills and rely on their co-workers in a new way. I thought this was amazing feedback and I think that the team really got a lot out of today. All the cakes were donated to a local shelter, so they went to a good cause at the end.

If you think that your company could benefit from some creativity like this, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. We’re here and ready to help you create that next perfect event.

Wild Goose - Chase Corporate Team Building Activity in Oklahoma City

Hi there! This is Emma from American Outback Adventures & Events.

And I just wanted to share a little bit of an adventure I just had, went to Oklahoma City for the first time to run an event for a local company there. This was our Wild Goose Chase and it was ran in our app with all of our challenges. The difference with this one is, the company really wanted to focus on eco- green challenges. So we added a lot of fun interaction with the public with recycling and the environment. So it had a little twist to our standard Wild Goose Chase, it was a lot of fun, the participants had a great time. When I was waiting at the finish and teams started to arrive, I could just see all the conversation, the cheering, the sharing of the photos, passing around some of the items they brought back. They were having a great time as they were getting served lunch. Everybody was in high competitive spirits and definitely into the game and having a great time. Of course, only one team can be the winner but they got some great prizes and had a great lunch afterwards. I think everyone’s highlight was definitely hearing about how the  boss fell in a fountain, so I think that that really just sealed the deal for the day.

Urban Fear Factor - Corporate Team Building Activity in Austin

Hi there! This is Emma from American Outback Adventures & Events.

And I just got back from an event in Austin, Texas. This was our Urban Fear Factor event that’s run in our new smartphone app. This one is great if you don’t have a lot of time, like this company did. I went in at the close of their day and all their meetings, got everyone into groups, amped up, ready to go and loaded in the app with all the challenges, and then they hit the streets. They competed in all sorts of crazy challenges, put things that they wouldn’t normally do with their co-workers. It really pushed them to their limits, found out what they’re made of and had a lot of fun doing it. They got to interact with the public, get out all their crazy energy after being cooped up in meetings all day and have a great time. The finish was at a nearby restaurant, so everybody got to continue the fun, meet up for some food and drinks, while the points were tallied. We had a great finish, closing ceremony, and a debrief session at the end where the participants got a share of what they learned and what they knew about their co-workers now. It was a great day.

Iron Chef - Corporate Team Building Activity in Milwaukee

Hey everyone, it’s Michelle with American Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.

We have just finished an Iron Chef Barbecue Challenge in a park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We had 6 teams from a law office, all competing head to head with the criteria of creating an appetizer, a main course, a beverage and a dessert, all using our secret ingredient, which for our event that we just finished was pineapple. So they grilled up some amazing concoctions and were very creative with their presentation and their flavoring. They were given the same items across the board, but then also given the option of using our pantry table, which included a variety of herbs and spices, vinegar and that sort of thing. Like I said, that their presentations and their creativity as a whole, were fantastic, they were great, encouraging group and had a variety of skill levels from barbecue griller master to “never-seen-a-grill-before-in-their-life”, so it was a great experience and everyone had a really great time, had some custom team outfit created for some of the teams that arrived, so their team spirit was up from the moment they got there and they laughed a loving, loving experience.

Minute To Win It - Corporate Team Building Activity in Austin

Hi there, this is Emma from American Outback Adventures & Events.

I just wanted to take a moment to share with you my latest adventure with Minute To Win It. In this challenge, the teams competed head to head in over 12 different Minute To Win It style challenges. The room was decked to the nines, we had great music during each challenge, a projected buzzer the participants could watch and interact with and, as a bonus, in between the challenges we would toss around the mic and hear how the competition was going, what their favorite parts were, how their strategies were working out and a little bit about what they thought they could do better in their teams. So, it was a great learning experience as the event went on. They got better and better, earned more and more points, and of course at the end, we crowned the Minute To Win It champions. This event was great for breaking down the barriers, this team had a lot of fun together and I know that moving forward, they’re going to be comfortable talking to each other about anything.
