Art Smart - Corporate Team Building Activity in Simi Valley

Hi everyone, this is Emma from American Outback Adventures & Events, and I wanted to share some photos and stories from one of my new favorite event, it’s called Art Smart.

This event is all about creativity. Teams get together, and with limited starting supplies, plan out what their art work is gonna look like. They then create an art quiz, and to earn additional funds to go to the supply store, where they can purchase all of the necessary tools to create their masterpiece. They get to work, all working, helping together to create the vision. Each of these had a theme. The 2 themes were either “Be Bold” or “Rise to the Challenge” and everyone’s artwork really reflected this. Teams put a lot of effort into their art and at the end, we had a gallery showing, and everyone walked around and voted for their favorite piece. This event is really great if you want a social event where people can mingle and talk. While the art is being created, everyone gets the chance to walk around the room, see what everyone else is doing and have a great time. It also works really well if you’re gonna be serving any food or drinks. This event can be accommodated in any sized room with any size group.

If you think that your team would love a creative event like this at their next event/gathering, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.

Amazing Chase - Corporate Team Building Activity in Delray Beach

On early December, we hosted our Amazing Chase for a sales team from a national tire company in Delray Beach, Florida.

The weather was sunny, warm and beautiful. It was the perfect day for a chase. The 11 teams raced throughout Delray beach, solving clues, and using GPS to navigate stops along the route. Then, they completed roadblocks and detour challenges. The challenges tested the team’s mental and physical strengths, their adaptability, and their ability to work together as a cohesive unit. In this game of speed and accuracy, it was a battle for first and second place. Ultimately, the winners were the team who completed the most challenges correctly in the best time.

Cake Creators - Corporate Team Building Activity in Las Vegas

Hi, this is Emma from American Outback Adventures & Events, here to talk a little bit about one of the most delicious events we have. This is the Cake Creators event.

In this event, teams get to taste their decorating skills. There’s a little lesson at the beginning and then they put it to the test to see what they can come up with. They selected a great theme for this event and the cakes turned out amazing! At the end of the event, they all have learned some new skills and were really surprised by their co-workers and their creativity. The winning team’s cake was left to be eaten by everyone and all of the rest of the cakes were taken to a local food bank and shelter to be served with dinner, which was a great way to give back and not have any left over cake at the end.

Wild Goose Chase - Corporate Team Building Activity in Scottsdale

Hi, this is Emma from American Outback Adventures & Events, just gonna share with you a little bit about our Wild Goose Chase.

This time we ran it in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona. This was in old town, which was a great location for all of the fun challenges that these teams went through. The weather was perfect even though it’s winter – loved the desert for that, and there was plenty of shops, people, attractions and landmarks for the teams to select from. They competed in over 60 challenges and at the end, the team with the most points was of course awarded the victors. This all wrapped up with a nice dinner and cocktail hour where they were allowed to share stories and photos and talk about their experiences in each team.

The Apprentice / Minute To Win It - Corporate Team Building Activity in Orange County

This is James from American Outback Adventures with another event update.

Today we are in beautiful, sunny southern California at the St. Regis hotel, the 5 star resort down here. We’ve been contracted by a biotech company to provide a full day of team building. Now, in the morning they chose our Apprentice program which is a beautiful, wonderful program. It involves creativity, planning, group problem solving, but ultimately, the end goal is that each team gets to put together a bike, and that bike gets to be donated to a child here in Orange County, or if we did it in your town, it would be donated to a child in your area. So it’s a great way to support the community, it’s a great way to explore team concepts with your team. Our charity came in, explained to the group the impact that that bike was gonna make on the demographic that they serve, and it was a touching moment, lots of heartfelt high fives, hugs, and the team definitely, definitely got a sense of what their donation was gonna do.

Now in the afternoon, after we broke for lunch, the team opted for something a little bit, I’m gonna go goofier, silly-er. These guys chose our Minute to Win It program, and let me tell you folks, the Minute to Win It program is the perfect way to just relax and let loose for an afternoon of fun team activities. If you have ever seen the TV show, you know you compete in a series of 1 minute seemingly simple challenges but you compete as an individual. With our version, we’ve taken those seemingly simple challenges and created team activities out of each one. So if your team is the team that completes the most challenges with the most number of points, you’re gonna win the Minute to Win It challenge. We had a winner today, it was a great time. Everybody left with smiles, lots of laughter.

The Apprentice - Corporate Team Building Activity in Las Vegas

Hi, this is Emma from American Outback Adventures & Events, here to share some photos and information about our recent ApprenticeBike Build in Las Vegas.

This event was held at the SLS hotel which was a great unique venue, really helpful and on top of it. The excitement in this event began with over a hundred and sixty participants. We had 23 bikes that we’re building for a local Nevada charity. At the end of this event, the charity came out and spoke a little bit about what it means to them and the kids to be receiving these bikes. Everyone in the crowd was impressed with the charity and the work that they have done over the course of the 3 hours. The bikes looked amazing and they were going to a great home.

Team Pursuit / Crime Investigators - Corporate Team Building Activity in Houston

This group of professionals kicked off their day with our Team Pursuit activity before the start of their meeting.

It was the perfect way to break down barriers, to get participants thinking and moving and to energize the team at the start of the day. The teams battled each other and raced against the clock to earn points by completing challenges in 4 categories – Mental, Physical, Skill and Mystery, all using our smartphone app. Following their meeting later in the afternoon, the group shifted into detective mode for our Crime Investigators event. After a quick briefing to learn about forensics and to collect their dossiers detailing the suspects and crime scenes, teams explored the nearby Hilton hotel and surrounding area, searching for clues and evidence to solve the case. Each team was cast with determining the motive, suspects, and other details and they all got their roles as detectives.

The Apprentice - Corporate Team Building Activity in Redmond

Hi, it’s Jules with another corporate event update with American Outback Adventures & Events.

Today we were in Redmond, Washington where we hosted a custom Apprentice event for a large technology company. Their goal was to customize our event to fit their theme of their meetings, which was all about startup ventures. There were representatives from all over the world, Germany to China to the US. Teams were tasked to create a unique startup company name and a product name, and were asked to present their final completed bike in front of the group. We tailored our quiz to include questions about their startup theme, which gave teams the opportunity to purchase more decorative items to customize their bikes. When it came time to present, it was all hands on deck, and of course, being a technology company, they used all the resources at their disposal to create some amazing presentations on powerpoint to the group, all while showcasing their product. At the end of the event, these bikes were donated to families in the community with the help of a local organization.

Wild Goose Chase - Corporate Team Building Activity in Atlanta

This is Jordan with another corporate event update from American Outback Adventures & Events.

Our latest event was a Wild Goose Chase, planned for a consultant firm from various parts of Europe. With over 10 countries competing, this truly was an event on a global scale. We have the pleasure of hosting our Wild Goose Chase in the so called capital of the south – Atlanta, Georgia. With its iconic African-American history, big ticket downtown attractions and a consolation of super restaurants. This was a gem of location and offered a new perspective on the “city too busy to hate”. The Wild Goose Chase took teams on a series of missions, throughout the downtown core. Each mission had a different difficulty level and earned teams anywhere from 1 to 10 points. Teams earn points by completing the challenges and submitting their answers through American Outback smartphone app in the form of fun photos. The day was a success as we were able to achieve the group’s 3 main goals – having fun, getting to know each other better, and being adaptable in new roles.

Mission To The Moon - Corporate Team Building Activity in Columbus

Hi, this is Emma from American Outback Adventures & Events.

We have a great event that kind of fits in to the theme of space exploration, which is just so popular right now with missions to Mars. This one is called Mission to the Moon. In this one, teams are going to be tasked with building a rocket. They’re also gonna have precious cargo - an egg. This egg, after launching, must still be intact to earn them extra points. Once they designed their rockets, get materials, and build and decorate their rockets, will head out to a park to launch them. They get to launch and would not believe how high these rockets go. This is, of course, the highlight of the event. Everyone gets to test it out, see how their design goes, and calculate the trajectory and altitude. Of course, they go run over and check to see if their precious cargo has cracked. This is a great event that can be done in any location.

If you think your team would have fun with this creative and intellectual event, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.

Wild Goose Chase - Corporate Team Building Activity in New Orleans

American Outback Adventures & Events hosted a Wild Goose Chase scavenger hunt for a national pharmacy company in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The team meets twice each year and have participated in several fun, unstructured activities in the past. Our Wild Goose Chase was something new and totally different from anything they'd experienced before. Our event coordinator handled all of the details and got the team pumped up before the chase. The teams were racing around the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, and throughout the city, locating people, things and activities to photograph and earn points, all hoping to be crowned the Wild Goose Chase champions. The winning team came down to just one point. The team was so excited to find out the winners that we hosted the award ceremony right in the middle of Bourbon Street. The winning team received our gold medals, and of course, bragging rights for the rest of the night.

Minute To Win It - Corporate Team Building Activity in Chicago

Hi! This is Emma with American Outback Adventures and Events, here to talk a little about Chicago.

This is one of our major city, there’s so many trade shows and conventions and big business here, this one, who’s done at a huge convention center at the McCormick Place Hyatt. There was a lot of different things going on and events, but this was just one group that decided to throw a team building event during three day of conference. We came in and run our MinuteTo Win It, set everything up quickly so they could get straight to the fun. We did round robin games, competing relay style against head to head teammates. The game seem simple but once they get going, teams find out they’re a little more complicated than they originally thought. Communication is key here, also being able to adjust quickly and come up with new plans.

Iron Chef - Corporate Team Building Activity in Aptos

Hi there, this Emma from American Outback Adventures and Events.

I just wanted to take a moment to share a recent event we had in California. Beautiful sunny weather was perfect for this outdoor event. This is one of our great Iron Chef competitions. Not only do teams get to collaborate and be creative, but they have to come up with their menu plan with the secret ingredient. Teams never know what this ingredient could be, and it’s got to be included in their appetizer, entree, dessert, and beverage. They’ve got to really work against the time, work together, and come up with what they’re gonna present the judges. It is going to be creative, delicious and inspiring. At the end of this event,  everyone is full and happy.

Hi there, Shannon here with another corporate event update from American Outback Adventures & Events.

Today we did an Apprentice here in Bethesda, Maryland. Our participants today came directly from a work day to have some drinks, fun, and give back at a local restaurant. It was a small group of about 14 people, but just because they were small in size, didn’t mean they were small in ideas. These teams created some seriously creative bike décor and marketing presentations. The intimacy of the event really brought these co-workers closer together and even the biggest skeptic left the event feeling thrilled.

Crime Investigators - Corporate Team Building Activity in Greenville

This group of banking professionals met in Falls Park in Greenville, South Carolina for our Crime Investigators event.

After they learned about forensics and selected individual roles on their teams, the group left our headquarters to explore the park, visit the crime scenes, and collect evidence. The teams encountered our agents in the field, an informant, and some suspicious characters. When we met back at headquarters, the teams turned in the biological evidence they collected in the field and began piecing together the crime. Teams used time management, problem solving skills, non-linear critical thinking and collaboration to determine the motivation for the crime and the main suspects. The Apprentice - Corporate Team Building Activity in Austin

Hi there, this is Emma from American Outback Adventures & Events.

And I just wanted to let everyone know about our amazing Apprentice Bike Build event. This one was spectacular. We ran it in Austin, Texas, one of my favorite cities to go to and, what really made this event special was the charity involved. We got the Boys and Girls Club to come out, and not only did they send a representative, but they had kids come to this one. It was great timing because this event was in the afternoon, so it was after the kids got out of school, and they were able to bus them over just in time to catch all the team’s presentations. It really added that extra special element to the end of the event. All the participants got to meet the kids, have picture taken with the bikes and with the kids and really just add that give back, full circle community feeling to the end of this event. Besides, all of the participants got to know their co-workers just a little bit better, got to have a fun, creative adventurous afternoon with them and got to meet wonderful kids who received these bikes at the end of the event.

If this is something that your company would enjoy, especially at this time of year, heading into the holidays, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
